About Us


The Potomac Valley Chapter is part of a network of regional organizations around the world that are affiliated with the WVU Alumni Association. The Potomac Valley Chapter is comprised of those who attended, graduated or has an interest in supporting West Virginia University and Potomac State College. We serve Mineral and Hampshire counties in West Virginia and Allegany and Garrett Counties in Maryland.
The purpose/mission of this non-profit chapter shall be to promote, by organized effort, the interest, goals, visions, pride and welfare of West Virginia University; to encourage closer fellowship among alumni, former students, and friends of the university in the Potomac Valley area; to cooperate in supporting and developing the civic activities of the area and establish close contact and better understanding between the university and its graduates, former students and friends in the area. The Chapter is registered with the Federal Government as a 501c (3) nonprofit entity and is therefore considered a tax-exempt organization capable of receiving tax deductible donations from individuals, businesses and corporations.

These officers constitute the Board of Directors and has the decision-making authority between called Chapter meetings.
Our Chapter meets bi-monthly on the odd numbered months on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Our meetings are held in the Enrollment Services and Visitor Center, 75 Arnold Street, Keyser WV on the campus of Potomac State College. All Mountaineers are welcome!
