The Potomac Valley Alumni Chapter sponsors a variety of events throughout the year to provide networking and social opportunities for members to have fun and reconnect with WVU alums in the area, including Game Watch parties, bus trips to away football and basketball games, annual golf tournament, and more.

Football Watch Party - September 6, 2025
Join fellow Mountaineers at the North Branch Brewing Company’s Pub located at 101 Armstrong Street in Keyser for an official Potomac Valley Chapter Game Watch Party. The WVU Mountaineers will be visiting the Ohio University Bobcats (in Athens OH) for the second game of the season and first road trip. Doors will open at 3:30 with the game scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
This event will also serve as the kick off to our “Bears and Blankets” campaign benefiting the WVU Children’s Hospital in conjunction with the WVU Alumni Office and chapters across the nation. Each year, more than 9,000 children are admitted to WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, many facing serious health challenges in unfamiliar surroundings. The Bears & Blankets initiative was created to provide comfort to these young patients through the donation of new store-bought stuffed animals and blankets.
A stuffed animal or equivalent donation will be the entry fee for the watch party. The Watch Party is open to ANY WVU fan and/or supporter. There is no registration, just show up! Drinks and food cost is your responsibility.
Annual Fall Golf Classic Tournament - October 3,2025
Registration Begins at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Numerous raffles and competitions will be offered including a bourbon raffle.
This event is our major fund-raising event with ALL PROFITS going to fund our Chapters Endowed Scholarship Fund which benefits eligible students attending Potomac State College and WVU from Mineral, Hampshire, Allegany and Garrett counties.
